Te mapa
Saipan is the largest island of the Northern Mariana Islands, a US commonwealth in the western Pacific. It is long and narrow, running roughly north to south. Its western side faces a wide, shallow lagoon protected by a barrier reef, and most of the island's towns, hotels and roads are strung along that coast. The eastern side is rougher, facing the open ocean.
A ridge runs down the middle of the island, rising to Mount Tapochau, its highest point, with views over the whole of Saipan. Garapan, the main commercial area, sits on the western lagoon. Just offshore is Managaha, a small island ringed by beaches. In the north, the land ends in steep cliffs above the sea.
A Saipan map poster brings together the island's geography and its history. In 1944 it was the site of the Battle of Saipan, one of the major battles of the Pacific War. The northern cliffs, known as Banzai Cliff and Suicide Cliff, are now memorial sites. On the print, the contrast between the busy western shore and the quieter east is immediately visible.

The central ridge rises to the island's summit near its middle, with roads winding up the slopes towards the viewpoint.
A small island just off the western shore, inside the lagoon. It appears as a neat point of land beside the larger island.

Koteā ko Saipan
Saipan holds meaning for residents, for families with wartime history and for visitors who came for the diving and the lagoon. A clear, quiet map honours the island without turning it into a souvenir.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a home, a memorial or a date. The poster is available in Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
