Te mapa
San Bernardo lies at the southern edge of the Santiago metropolitan area, on the flat floor of the central valley with the Andes rising to the east. Its map shows a long, regular street grid that has grown outward from an older centre around the main square, blending gradually into newer residential estates.
The Pan-American Highway and the southern railway line run north to south through the area, giving the map strong parallel axes. To the west rises Cerro Chena, a low hill whose irregular outline breaks the straight grid, while the Maipo River runs further south across the valley.
San Bernardo has long been associated with the railway, and its large rail workshops, the Maestranza, played a key role in the history of Chilean trains. A San Bernardo map poster shows a suburb with its own identity, defined by rails, a hill and a valley grid.
The southern rail line crosses the city in a straight north-south line, recalling the historic workshops that made San Bernardo a railway town.
A low hill to the west breaks the grid with an irregular outline, adding a natural feature to an otherwise flat and regular urban pattern.
Long straight streets and rectangular blocks spread across the level valley, creating a calm, ordered texture that works well in a minimalist style.

Koteā ko San Bernardo
San Bernardo is where many Santiago families put down roots, close to the capital but with a town centre of its own. A map of its streets suits a first home, a family history or a childhood spent near the railway.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The HD download costs $9 and includes six sizes, or you can order a matte printed poster with an optional frame.
