Te mapa
San José Pinula lies in the department of Guatemala, a short distance east of the capital, in the mountainous terrain of the central highlands. From above, the town reads as a compact centre with streets branching out along ridgetops. Steep, wooded ravines cut through the land between the built-up areas and leave long green gaps in the street pattern.
Like many towns in this part of the country, the centre follows a traditional Spanish colonial layout, with a central square and a church and a small grid of blocks around them. Beyond that core the regularity gives way quickly. Roads bend to follow the contours, and newer residential developments sit on whatever level ground the hillsides allow.
Its closeness to Guatemala City has drawn housing and commuters out along the eastern roads in recent decades, so older village streets now sit alongside gated neighbourhoods and newer suburbs. A San José Pinula map poster captures that mix, with a small historic core, roads threading along the ridges and the ravines shaping everything in between.
A small grid of blocks around the central plaza and church forms the oldest, most regular part of the map, easy to pick out against the looser streets around it.
Deep wooded ravines divide the town into separate fingers of settlement, so roads follow high ground and the drawing takes on a branching, uneven outline.
Routes heading west toward Guatemala City carry commuters and new development and show up as the longest, most continuous lines on the sheet.

Koteā ko San José Pinula
San José Pinula is a place people leave for work and come back to at the weekend, or remember from years abroad. Its map shows the plaza and the roads along the ridges plainly, without postcard views, and that makes it a personal keepsake.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can carry a family name, a date or a few words in Spanish. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to set the tone, from sharp and graphic to warm and quiet.
