Te mapa
Santyoku, more commonly romanised as Samcheok, lies on the east coast of Gangwon Province, facing the East Sea. From above, the city sits on a narrow strip of flatter ground where the Osipcheon stream reaches the coast, with a harbour and beaches on one side and the Taebaek mountains rising steeply behind it.
The city is known for Jukseoru, a historic pavilion set on a cliff above the Osipcheon, and for the limestone caves in its surrounding mountains, including Hwanseon Cave. Along the coast, small ports and beaches line the shore, while mining and cement industries have long been part of the local economy.
A Santyoku map poster captures that meeting of mountains, river and sea. The street network is compact and follows the valley floor, the coastline runs in a clean line, and the ridges behind leave the map quiet and open. It suits anyone with ties to Samcheok or the Gangwon coast.
The Osipcheon winds through the city to reach the sea. Its curve passes below the cliff of Jukseoru pavilion and gives the map a central natural line.
The coast runs along the eastern edge of the map with harbours and beaches. The sea fills that side of the poster with calm, open space.
West of the city, steep ridges push development into narrow valleys. On the map, roads follow those valleys, leaving the higher ground largely unmarked.
