Te mapa
São Jerônimo lies on the Jacuí River in Rio Grande do Sul, west of Porto Alegre. It is one of the older municipalities in the state, and its history is tied to the river, which served for a long time as the main route between the interior and the capital. The surrounding district is also known for coal, and mining towns such as Charqueadas and Arroio dos Ratos lie nearby.
From above, the Jacuí dominates the landscape. It is wide and slow, with islands and marshy margins, and the town sits on its bank with a grid of streets reaching down to the water. Beyond the built-up area, flat farmland and wetlands stretch away toward the low hills.
A São Jerônimo map poster is essentially a portrait of a town and its river. The broad band of the Jacuí fills part of the frame, the streets arrange themselves neatly beside it, and the roads inland give the composition its structure. Printed in black and white, it is calm and spacious.

The town's regular streets run down to the riverbank. They are compact and orderly, in contrast with the loose curves of the water.
Low, marshy ground borders the river and its islands. It adds soft, irregular shapes around the more precise lines of the town.
