Shizhai lies in the far north of Jiangsu, on the broad lowland that runs toward the borders of Shandong, Henan and Anhui. From above the ground is almost perfectly level. With no hills or coastline to bend it, the town takes its shape from roads, drainage channels and the edges of cultivated land.
