Te mapa
Talipapa is a barangay in the Novaliches area of northern Quezon City, part of Metro Manila. From above, it is almost entirely built up: small blocks, narrow side streets and alleys fill the space between a few main roads. There is little open land, and the street network shows the typical pattern of a Manila neighbourhood, grown gradually rather than planned from a single design.
The name Talipapa is also a Filipino word for a small, informal market, and markets and small shops are part of everyday life across the district. Novaliches has long been one of the most populous parts of Quezon City, and Talipapa shares its mix of residential streets, local businesses and busy thoroughfares carrying jeepneys and tricycles.
A Talipapa map poster shows the fine grain of a lived-in city neighbourhood. Lines of streets tighten into dense clusters, broken only by the wider roads that cross the area. In a single frame, the map captures a place that is easy to overlook on a large Metro Manila map but full of detail up close.
Short, narrow streets and alleys fill nearly every block, giving the map a close, intricate texture typical of northern Metro Manila.
A few wide roads cross the barangay and carry most of its traffic, standing out as strong lines against the fine local streets.
Talipapa is surrounded by other built-up barangays, so the map shows how one neighbourhood fits into the continuous fabric of Quezon City.
