Te mapa
Bagong Silangan sits at the eastern edge of Quezon City, where the flat grid of central Metro Manila gives way to rolling ground. On a map this shows up straight away: instead of long straight avenues, the streets bend and branch to follow the contours, and many smaller lanes end abruptly where the land drops towards a creek or rises onto a slope.
The street pattern is very dense. Houses, alleys and small subdivisions are packed closely together, so the map fills with a fine web of short lines that thins out only near the greener, steeper ground at the edges. The larger roads that connect the area to the rest of the city stand out as the few longer, continuous strokes through the neighbourhood.
Bagong Silangan is one of the most populous barangays in Quezon City, with a population larger than many cities. A Bagong Silangan map poster shows a side of Metro Manila that rarely appears in guidebooks: a real, lived-in neighbourhood whose shape is set by hills, creeks and decades of steady growth.
Roads curve and fork to follow the hilly ground, giving the map an organic, branching look that contrasts with the straighter grids further west in Quezon City.
Narrow alleys and short connecting streets fill almost every block, so the map is drawn in a fine, tightly woven texture across most of the barangay.
Towards the edges, the density eases where the terrain becomes steeper and more open, leaving calmer blank areas that frame the built-up core.
