Te mapa
Tiruvankod, also written Thiruvithamcode, lies in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, close to Thuckalay and the border with Kerala. The land here is humid and heavily planted, and from above the town shows as a loose web of lanes set among trees, ponds and fields rather than a tightly packed centre.
The town is known for its Arappally, a small church that local tradition links to Saint Thomas the Apostle and counts among the oldest in India. The name of the place is also often connected with that of the former kingdom of Travancore. Both show how closely this corner of southern India is tied to the region's past.
A Tiruvankod map poster captures the soft, irregular character of settlement in this area: streets that follow field edges, water tanks that appear as small pale shapes and roads connecting to neighbouring villages. The hills of the Western Ghats lie not far to the north, giving a wider frame a sense of rising ground.
Streets curve between plots and groves instead of forming a grid, so the town appears as a fine, branching network spread across the print.
Small bodies of water scattered through the area show up as pale shapes among the streets, a typical feature of the Kanyakumari landscape.
Roads lead out to Thuckalay and nearby villages, so a wider view shows Tiruvankod as part of a continuous, lightly built landscape rather than an isolated town.

Koteā ko Tiruvankod
For people from Tiruvankod, the map brings back familiar lanes and the green surroundings of Kanyakumari district. It also suits anyone with a connection to the Arappally and its long tradition, as a calm, personal piece rather than a souvenir.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or an anniversary date. Choose from five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
