Te mapa
Traverse City sits at the southern end of Grand Traverse Bay, an inlet of Lake Michigan. The bay splits into two arms around the long, narrow Old Mission Peninsula. From above, the town curves around the head of the West Arm, with open water filling the top of the map.
The Boardman River winds through downtown and forms a loop before reaching the bay, so the central blocks around Front Street sit partly inside its curve. Parks and beaches line the shore, and residential grids spread south and west. Several lakes sit inland, including Boardman Lake just south of downtown.
Traverse City calls itself the cherry capital of the world and hosts the National Cherry Festival every summer. Sleeping Bear Dunes is a short drive west. A Traverse City map poster shows a town arranged around water: bay, river, lakes and the peninsula pointing north.
The bay fills the northern part of the map. The Old Mission Peninsula divides it into two arms, a strong, recognisable shape.
The river winds through downtown before emptying into the bay. Its curves frame the historic commercial streets.
Beaches, open space and a waterfront trail run along the bay. They draw a soft edge between the town grid and the water.

Koteā ko Traverse City
Traverse City is a place of summer holidays, cherry orchards, lake houses and a relaxed downtown. People hang its map to remember the bay, a wedding in wine country or a year spent up north.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to mark a cottage, a family reunion or an address. Blueprint suits the bay and river, and Noir or Classic black and white bring out the shoreline.
