Triunfo Map Poster & Print
Triunfo lies on the Jacuí river close to its meeting with the Taquari, in the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre. It is one of the older settlements in Rio Grande do Sul, and its small historic centre sits close to the riverbank, where short streets and a central square slope gently toward the water.
Triunfo is the birthplace of Bento Gonçalves, leader of the Ragamuffin War, the nineteenth-century Farroupilha revolt that still shapes the state's identity. Today the municipality is also home to the Southern Petrochemical Complex, whose plants, tanks and service roads form a large, precise geometric pattern on the map, very different from the older town.
Between these two poles lie farmland, wetlands and broad, slow rivers with their islands and side channels. A Triunfo map poster shows that unusual mix: a quiet colonial-era town, a giant industrial site and the water that links the region to Porto Alegre and, further on, the Lagoa dos Patos.
