Te mapa
West Haven sits on the Connecticut coast just southwest of New Haven, facing Long Island Sound. It has one of the longest stretches of public shoreline in the state, and on a map that edge defines the city: a smooth, continuous curve of beach and promenade along the southern side, backed by blocks of houses that fill the land inland.
For decades until the 1960s, the Savin Rock area on the shore was home to a large amusement park that drew visitors from across the region. The park is gone, but the waterfront is still a place for walking and swimming. Inland, the street grid is dense and suburban, crossed by Interstate 95 and the rail line serving the New Haven Line.
A West Haven map poster also includes the Cove River and the Oyster River at the city's edges, and the campus of the University of New Haven, which, despite its name, is in West Haven. It suits people who grew up near the shore, alumni of the university, and anyone who spent summers on the Sound.
The long public shore runs along the southern edge of the city in a gentle arc. It is the strongest, cleanest line on the poster.
The former amusement park area on the waterfront sits where the shoreline bends. It is a natural focal point for anyone who remembers the city's past.
The University of New Haven's grounds form a distinct cluster of paths and buildings inside the residential grid. Alumni will find it at once.

Koteā ko West Haven
Beach summers, a first apartment near the shore or four years at the university all make good reasons to put a map of West Haven on the wall. Personalise the title, add a graduation year or wedding date as the subtitle, and keep the coordinates.
Blueprint works well for a coastal city, and Classic black & white, Noir, Paper and Sand are also available. Printed posters come in sizes up to 24×36″. The $9 digital files include all six sizes without a watermark.
