Te mapa
This Wuxi is in southern Hunan, within Qiyang County in Yongzhou, and has nothing to do with the large lakeside city of the same name in Jiangsu. The two names are written with different characters in Chinese. On the map, the Hunan town is a compact grid of streets set in low hills, close to the Xiang River as it flows north through the province.
The river is what gives the map its structure. It winds past the town, with streets and neighbourhoods on its banks and farmland and wooded hills beyond. Newer districts have straighter, wider roads, while the older parts have a denser, finer grain. The contrast shows well when the lines are reduced to black on white.
The name is well known to anyone interested in Chinese calligraphy. The Wuxi Stele Forest, on cliffs by the Xiang River, preserves inscriptions carved over many centuries, including a famous Tang-dynasty text. A Wuxi map poster gives the place its own identity: a small river town with a long written history, not a namesake.
One of Hunan's main rivers bends past the town. Its broad curve is the dominant shape of the poster and sets the direction of the streets.
The stele forest sits on rocky ground by the water. On the map this edge between town, rock and river is the town's best-known spot.
Dense older streets sit next to wider modern roads. The change in line spacing between them gives the drawing depth.

Koteā ko Wuxi
This is a poster for people who know this particular Wuxi, whether through family in Qiyang or an interest in calligraphy and the Xiang River. It stands out because it is not the Wuxi most people expect.
Add your own title and subtitle, perhaps with a date or a line in Chinese characters, and edit the coordinates line. Then choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
