Te mapa
Xilinji is the seat of Mohe County, the northernmost county in China, in Heilongjiang's Greater Khingan region. From above, the town sits in a valley surrounded by larch and birch forest. A river runs along its edge, and the built area is a compact, regular grid of streets. Beyond it, forest covers almost everything, crossed only by a few roads and streams.
The town's regular layout has a specific history. In 1987 the Great Black Dragon Fire, one of the largest forest fires of the twentieth century, burned through the region and destroyed much of Xilinji. The town was rebuilt afterwards with wide streets and an orderly plan, and the map still shows this well-organised pattern.
Xilinji is known for its long, severe winters, with some of the lowest temperatures recorded in China. The Amur River, which marks the border with Russia, flows to the north. A Xilinji map poster shows a small grid town in a very large forest, a plan that stands out clearly from the land around it.
Wide, straight streets laid out after the 1987 fire make up the centre. On the poster they form a clear, orderly block.
A river curves along the edge of the town through the valley. It adds a soft, flowing line to the geometric street plan.
Dense forest surrounds the town on every side. On the map this becomes open space that frames the compact grid.

Koteā ko Xilinji
A map of Xilinji suits people who grew up in China's far north, travellers who went to see the northern lights or the winter cold, and anyone with ties to Mohe. Its simple grid makes a clean, minimal design.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a winter trip date. The poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
