Te mapa
Xiuying is one of the districts of Haikou, the capital of Hainan, and covers the western part of the city. Its northern edge is shoreline facing the Qiongzhou Strait and the Leizhou Peninsula on the mainland, and much of the map is shaped by that coast. Seafront roads run parallel to the water, while the streets behind them extend inland toward farmland and volcanic uplands.
The district's ferry ports are one of Hainan's main links with the mainland, carrying cars, trucks and passengers across the strait. To the southwest lies the Haikou volcanic cluster, a geopark of extinct cones and old lava fields. Its terrain gives the land beyond the city an unusually varied texture on the map.
A Xiuying map poster brings together three distinct layers: the long coastline, the newer city blocks and wide avenues behind it, and the countryside and volcanic terrain further inland. It shows the quieter western side of Haikou, less familiar than the old city centre to the east, and its mix of sea and land reads especially well in the Blueprint style.
Along the northern edge the land meets the Qiongzhou Strait in a long, gently curving shore lined with seafront roads and open green strips.
The ferry terminals connecting Hainan with Guangdong sit on this coast. Their piers and approach roads form sharp geometric shapes at the water's edge.
Inland, the extinct cones of the Haikou volcanic cluster create irregular, rounded shapes and winding roads, a texture quite different from the city grid.

Koteā ko Xiuying
Xiuying suits anyone who lives on Haikou's western side, or who has arrived on Hainan by ferry and remembers the first view of the coast. A map of the district holds both the sea and the streets in one quiet image.
