Te mapa
Yamashita lies in Kōchi Prefecture on the island of Shikoku, in the lowland that opens onto Tosa Bay and the Pacific. On a map, this area is a patchwork of fields and housing, with narrow lanes weaving between plots and small rivers and irrigation channels running toward the coast. To the north, the ground rises into the forested mountains that cover most of the prefecture.
Kōchi's flatland has long been important for agriculture, and the prefecture is known in Japan for its warm climate and for crops grown in greenhouses. It is also the historic province of Tosa, home of the samurai Sakamoto Ryōma, and famous for katsuo no tataki, lightly seared bonito. The coast here faces the open ocean, and typhoons are a regular part of life.
A Yamashita map poster offers a view of everyday Japan away from the big cities: irregular lanes, clusters of houses, the grid of fields and the lines of water between them. For anyone with family in Kōchi, or who spent time living on Shikoku, it is a quiet and precise reminder of a particular stretch of countryside.
Small rectangular plots of farmland fill the plain, creating a fine, regular texture around the houses and lanes that reads well at any size.
Narrow rivers and irrigation channels cross the lowland toward the sea, drawing thin, steady lines that organise the landscape across the poster.
Forested hills rise sharply from the edge of the plain, leaving large parts of the map almost empty and emphasising the flat settled land.

Koteā ko Yamashita
People connected to Kōchi often carry a strong sense of regional identity, and a map of home is a simple way to express it. This design keeps the focus on lanes and fields rather than landmarks, which suits a quiet interior.
Personalise the poster with a title in your chosen wording, a subtitle and coordinates, and choose one of five styles. Each $9 purchase includes 300 DPI PNG files and print-ready PDFs in six sizes, with no watermark.
