Te mapa
Yoshikawa lies in the eastern part of Saitama Prefecture, on the low plain north of Tokyo. On the map, it is framed by rivers: the Edogawa to the east and the Nakagawa to the west, each running between raised embankments. Between them, older settlements follow winding roads, while newer neighbourhoods near the railway have neatly planned streets.
The town was traditionally surrounded by paddy fields and waterways, and it is known in Japan for its catfish, or namazu, which appear in local cuisine and as a town symbol. The JR Musashino Line runs through the area, and the development around its stations has turned former farmland into commuter housing for the Tokyo region.
A Yoshikawa map poster shows this blend of old and new between two rivers. The waterways give the composition clear boundaries, and the change from irregular rural roads to regular grids is visible at a glance. It is a quiet and precise print, typical of the Japanese landscape on the edge of a great city.
The Edogawa and Nakagawa run along either side of the town, forming natural borders and giving the poster strong vertical lines.
Around the railway stations, newer residential areas follow a neat, planned grid, a clear contrast with the older roads nearby.
Areas of remaining rice fields and waterways appear as open, regular plots, recalling the agricultural landscape that once covered the whole plain.

Koteā ko Yoshikawa
Yoshikawa is where many families settle while working in Tokyo, and a map of the town marks that home in a calm, understated way. It makes a considerate gift for a move or anniversary.
