Chao Phraya bend
The river curves around the district in a wide arc. This gives the map a strong, flowing edge that no man-made boundary could match.

The map
Yan Nawa covers part of the long bend in the Chao Phraya River south of central Bangkok. From above, the district is framed by water on one side and a dense mesh of sois on the other. Rama III Road runs parallel to the river, and the expressway crosses the area in broad, sweeping curves. Across the water, the green loop of Bang Krachao makes a striking contrast with the built-up bank.
The district takes its name from Wat Yan Nawa, a temple known for its chedi built in the shape of a Chinese junk. It is a reminder of the river trade that once defined this part of the city. Along the bank, warehouses and wharves have steadily given way to condominiums and offices, and the Rama III corridor has become one of Bangkok's newer business areas.
A Yan Nawa map poster turns the district into a study of curves and density. The river bends in a wide arc, the expressway ramps loop overhead, and fine lanes branch off the main roads. Printed in black and white, the water becomes a quiet blank shape that holds the whole composition together and sets the city grid in relief.

The broad road follows the river for several kilometres. It forms a clear line between the waterfront plots and the denser neighbourhoods inland.
Narrow lanes run off the main roads in short, often dead-end branches. On the map they look like the fine teeth of a comb.

Why Yan Nawa
For people who have lived or worked along the river in Bangkok, Yan Nawa is a precise and personal choice, more particular than a map of the whole city. The curve of the Chao Phraya reads beautifully in the Noir and Blueprint styles.
Give the poster your own title and subtitle, for example the year you arrived in Bangkok, and keep the coordinates line or change it. Five styles are available. Each comes as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF, or as a matte print from a nearby partner.
