The resort

About this Courchevel map poster

Courchevel is not one village but several, set at different heights on the same side of the mountain. On a map the settlements rise in steps: Le Praz near the valley, then Courchevel Village, Moriond and finally Courchevel at the top, around the head of the ski area. A road loops back and forth to connect them. Seen from above, each level looks like its own separate cluster.

The upper resort has the tightest grid of chalets and hotels, arranged around the bottom of the main slopes. Nearby is the altiport, whose short runway runs up a steep slope and is famous with pilots. Courchevel is part of the Three Valleys. In 1992, during the Albertville Winter Olympics, it hosted ski jumping at Le Praz.

A Courchevel map poster shows the whole climb at once, with every level, the switchbacks and the upper resort pressed against the mountain. It is more detailed than most alpine maps because there are so many separate settlements, yet the layout stays easy to follow. Each village sits on its own shelf of the slope.

01

The stepped villages

The settlements sit at clearly different heights on the same slope. On paper they form a series of distinct clusters linked by one road, like steps drawn from the valley up to the peaks.

02

The altiport

The high-altitude airstrip has a short runway laid on a steep slope. It shows on the map as a single straight stroke among the curving roads and chalets of the upper resort.

03

Olympic jumps at Le Praz

The ski jumps built for the 1992 Winter Olympics stand above Le Praz. They mark the lowest village with a piece of sporting history that you can still pick out on the slope.

Why Courchevel

A map that means something

Guests in Courchevel usually know exactly which level they stayed on, and they have opinions about it. The map shows all of the levels together, which makes it a thoughtful way to remember a particular winter or a group trip with friends.

Personalise the title and subtitle with a chalet name or a season, and keep or edit the coordinates. Noir suits the resort's evening glamour, while Paper and Sand are softer. Classic black & white and Blueprint complete the five styles, all available as HD files or matte prints.
