The map

About this Sopot map poster

Sopot lies on the Gulf of Gdańsk, between Gdańsk to the south and Gdynia to the north, and is the smallest part of the Tricity. On a map it forms a narrow band. A long sandy beach runs along the east, a tight grid of villas and streets fills the middle, and the forested hills of the Tricity Landscape Park rise to the west.

The town grew as a fashionable spa resort in the nineteenth century. Its wooden pier, more than 500 metres long, is often described as the longest of its kind in Europe. Monte Cassino Street, the pedestrian promenade leading down to the pier, is the centre of town life, and the open-air Forest Opera hosts concerts in the woods above.

A Sopot map poster shows how clearly the setting organises the town. The straight line of the pier reaching into the sea, the promenade running inland from it, and the dense blocks thinning out as the land rises into forest make a simple, balanced composition that anyone who knows the Polish coast will recognise.

01

The pier

Sopot's wooden pier reaches far out into the Gulf of Gdańsk, a single fine line on the poster that immediately identifies the town.

02

Monte Cassino Street

The pedestrian street runs straight from the railway area down to the sea, an unmistakable axis connecting the town centre to the beach and the pier.

03

Forested hills

West of the town, the street grid stops at the edge of wooded moraine hills, leaving a wide, quiet band that frames the seaside districts.

Why Sopot

A map that means something

Sopot is where many people spent summer holidays, student years or a first trip to the Baltic. A map of its shoreline and pier keeps those long evenings on the promenade present, without leaning on postcards or souvenir imagery.

Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the year of a visit or a wedding date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a matte print with an optional frame or as $9 HD files in six sizes.
