Te mapa
Ambarakaraka is a town in the Diana region at the northern tip of Madagascar. With around sixteen thousand residents, it serves as a local centre for the surrounding rural area. The land around it is green and uneven, and on a map the town appears as a modest cluster of streets surrounded by farmland and scattered villages.
The street pattern is informal and follows the terrain. A few main roads lead into town and meet near the centre, and smaller paths branch off between houses and garden plots. Towards the edges, the built area breaks into smaller groups of dwellings joined by tracks that head out into the fields.
An Ambarakaraka map poster turns a place that barely registers on national maps into a detailed image. Its roads, junctions and scattered outer houses give it a loose, open texture, with plenty of blank space around a small, legible core. It's an honest portrait of a rural Malagasy town.
The main routes into town converge near its centre. That junction forms the densest, most defined part of the map.
Towards the outskirts, houses break into small clusters linked by paths. The outline stays soft and gradual rather than sharp.
Farmland and uneven terrain surround the town with few roads. It leaves broad, quiet areas around the dense centre.
