Te mapa
Cabo Frio sits on the eastern coast of Rio de Janeiro state, in the area known as the Região dos Lagos. Water dominates the map: the long Araruama lagoon to the west, the Atlantic to the south and east, and the Itajuru channel linking them right beside the old centre. The built-up area spreads across low, sandy ground between these edges.
Cabo Frio was founded in the early seventeenth century and is among the oldest towns in Brazil. The Forte São Mateus still stands on the rocks at the end of Praia do Forte, the long beach that runs along the ocean side of the city. The shallow margins of the lagoon were long used for salt production, and traces of the old salt pans remain along parts of its shore.
A Cabo Frio map poster turns this landscape into strong contrasts: dark street grids on the sand, pale open water on every side, and the thin strips of beach and dune between them. The coastline running north toward the dunes of Peró gives the design a long, sweeping edge, and the channel gives it a narrow waist.
A narrow waterway runs past the historic centre and connects the Araruama lagoon with the ocean. It splits the city into two sides joined by bridges, and it is the key line on the map.
The main beach traces a long, gentle arc of sand from the old fort along the ocean side of the city. It gives the poster a clean, unbroken coastal edge.
A large, very salty lagoon stretches west of the city. Its irregular inner shoreline is marked by coves, points and old salt works, a far more intricate edge than the ocean beaches.

Koteā ko Cabo Frio
Cabo Frio is where many families from Rio and the interior spend their summers, and the map carries those memories: the beach walks, the bridge over the channel, the evenings by the fort. Its outline, framed by water on every side, also simply looks good on a wall.
You can personalise the title, add a subtitle with a year or a beach name, keep or edit the coordinates, and choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to the warmer Sand. A 900 px watermarked preview is free, and the full HD files cost $9.
