Te mapa
Calumet City is in Cook County, south of Chicago, and its eastern edge runs along the Illinois–Indiana state line. From above it shows the orderly Midwestern grid, with long straight streets and rectangular blocks of houses, broken by the Little Calumet River winding through the town. An interstate crosses the southern part of the city, and big commercial sites cluster around its interchanges.
The city grew with the steel mills and heavy industry of the Calumet region, and many of its neighbourhoods date from that time. Its location on the state line gave it a lively reputation in the first half of the twentieth century, when State Line Road was known for its many bars and nightclubs. Today it is mostly a residential suburb with shopping areas along its main roads.
A Calumet City map poster highlights what makes this place distinct: the straight state line on one side, the river's loose curves across the grid and the wide sweep of the highway. In black and white those contrasts come across clearly, and the print feels structured, local and rooted in the industrial history of the region.
The border with Indiana forms the city's eastern edge, a straight north–south line that marks the end of Illinois on the map.
The river winds across the regular grid in loose loops, one of the few curved lines in an otherwise straight street pattern.
A major highway runs across the south of the city, with broad interchanges and large retail areas grouped along it.

Koteā ko Calumet City
Calumet City is a place people are loyal to, whether their family worked in the mills or they grew up on its grid of streets. A print of the town makes a quiet tribute to that, and a good gift for someone who has moved away.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to include your street, your graduation year or your family name. Choose from five styles, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as $9 HD files or a printed 18×24″ or 24×36″ poster, with an optional frame.
