Te mapa
Changbai is the seat of the Changbai Korean Autonomous County in southeastern Jilin Province, on the upper Yalu River, which forms the border with North Korea. The city of Hyesan lies on the opposite bank, so close that the two towns face each other across the water. The county is named after the Changbai range, which dominates this part of Jilin.
Because the valley is narrow, the town grows as a long strip along the riverbank, with parallel streets, short cross streets and buildings stepping up the slopes behind. Korean culture is part of daily life here, visible in bilingual signs and local food. Beyond the edges, forest and mountains fill almost everything, broken only by roads that follow the side valleys.
A Changbai map poster makes the border part of the design. The Yalu runs through the frame as a single strong line, with the dense Chinese town along one bank and the streets of Hyesan on the other, while the steep hills leave wide open areas around both. Few posters show two countries meeting so directly.
The river that separates China and North Korea runs through the centre of the frame as a bold dividing line between two very different towns.
Hemmed in by slopes, Changbai stretches along the bank in a long, narrow band of parallel streets, which gives the poster a strong horizontal rhythm.
The North Korean city on the far bank appears in the same frame, making the map a rare view of two neighbouring towns across a border.

Koteā ko Changbai
Changbai is home to a Korean Chinese community, many of whom now live in larger Chinese cities or in South Korea. For travellers it marks a rare view across the Yalu, and a map records that border landscape precisely.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a name, a date or a dedication. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The darker Noir and Blueprint styles make the river line particularly striking.
