Te mapa
Chinandega is the main town of Nicaragua's far north-west. It sits on a hot, fertile plain between the Maribios volcanic range and the Pacific coast. The centre follows the Spanish colonial pattern: a regular grid of blocks around a central plaza and church. The streets run almost perfectly straight until they reach the edge of town and fade into cane fields and farm roads.
To the east rises San Cristóbal, the highest volcano in Nicaragua and one of its most active. The plains around town are known for sugarcane. Roads lead west to Corinto, the country's main Pacific port, and north towards the Gulf of Fonseca. Chinandega is often described as one of the hottest towns in the country, and its daily rhythm follows that heat.
A Chinandega map poster shows the town at its clearest: a tight chequerboard of blocks, with the main roads leaving from its corners. The volcanoes are not drawn as lines, but you can feel their presence in how sharply the grid stops and the flat, open countryside begins.
The centre is laid out in near-square blocks around the main plaza. The pattern prints with crisp, even regularity and gives the poster an almost architectural feel.
A main road heads south-west from town towards Corinto on the Pacific. It links Chinandega's farmland to Nicaragua's main seaport.
Around the grid, farm tracks cross the flat plain in long straight runs. This looser geometry frames the dense town centre and fills the outer edges of the print.

Koteā ko Chinandega
For Nicaraguans abroad, and for travellers who climbed San Cristóbal or crossed towards Honduras from here, a map of Chinandega is a modest keepsake. Edit the title, add a subtitle with a date or a family name, and choose whether to keep the coordinates line.
The grid looks sharp in Classic black and white and Blueprint, softer in Paper and Sand, and striking in Noir. The $9 download includes six print sizes at 300 DPI with matching print-ready PDFs, or you can order a printed poster on matte paper.
