Te mapa
San Miguel is the largest city in eastern El Salvador and the capital of its department. On a map its central area follows a clear grid of colonial origin, arranged around the main square and the cathedral, while newer neighbourhoods spread outward in less regular patterns. The Pan-American Highway runs through the urban area, drawing a long line across the composition.
Southwest of the city rises the Chaparrastique, also called the San Miguel volcano, one of the most active in the country. On the poster its presence is felt in the way the streets thin out and give way to open slopes and farmland. Nearby, the Río Grande de San Miguel and its low-lying ground mark another natural edge to the city.
San Miguel is known for its November carnival, one of the largest street festivals in Central America, which fills the centre with music and crowds every year. A San Miguel map poster shows the quieter, permanent structure behind the celebrations: a warm lowland city laid out in the shadow of a volcano.
The central blocks around the main square and cathedral form a regular grid, the densest and most ordered part of the map and the heart of the city's daily life.
The volcano southwest of the city shapes the landscape around it, and the map reflects this as streets give way to open slopes and farmland at the urban edge.
The highway passes through the city on its way across the country, a long, strong line connecting San Miguel with the capital to the west and the Honduran border to the east.

Koteā ko San Miguel
For many Salvadorans, including large communities abroad, San Miguel is where family stories begin. A map of its streets, with the volcano close by, is a way to keep the city present in a home far away, or to mark a return visit.
Write your own title and subtitle, add a family name or a special year, and adjust the coordinates line. Five styles are available, from Classic black & white to Sand. HD files cost $9, and printed posters are shipped from partners in over 30 countries.
