Te mapa
Chinhoyi, formerly known as Sinoia, is the capital of Mashonaland West in northern Zimbabwe. On a map the main highway from Harare toward Chirundu and the Zambian border passes through the town, and the street grid lies on either side. The central blocks are regular, and residential areas extend outward into gently rolling farmland.
The town is best known for the Chinhoyi Caves, a system of limestone caverns just northwest of town. At its heart is the Sleeping Pool, a deep, clear pool of cobalt blue water. The area around the caves is a protected recreational park, and it appears on the map as an open space beside the highway.
A Chinhoyi map poster shows the classic structure of a Zimbabwean provincial town: a highway spine, an organised grid, and farms beyond. It is a simple, well-balanced composition, with the caves as a quiet point of interest at its northwestern edge.
The main highway runs through the town and gives the map a strong diagonal spine, with the grid arranged around it.
The limestone caves and their deep blue pool lie just outside the town beside the highway, within a small protected park.
Open agricultural land surrounds the town. It sets the neat urban grid against a wide, quiet landscape.
