Te mapa
Dashiqiao is a county-level city under Yingkou in Liaoning Province. It lies where the flat lower Liao River plain meets the hills of the Liaodong Peninsula. On a map, the city forms a fairly regular grid of wide avenues and large blocks, bordered to the west by the main rail and expressway routes between Shenyang and Dalian.
The name means great stone bridge, and the city is known for magnesite. The deposits in the surrounding hills are among the largest in the world and support a big refractory materials industry. That industrial side shows up on the map as large compounds and rail sidings on the edges of the built-up area.
A Dashiqiao map poster brings these elements together: a planned-looking core, industry pushing out toward the hills and farmland spreading toward the plain. In black and white it looks structured and practical, much like the city itself, with transport corridors framing the streets.
The main corridor between Shenyang and Dalian runs along the edge of the city in straight parallel lines, a firm boundary for the grid.
Large industrial compounds and sidings appear on the outskirts. They are linked to the magnesite deposits that make Dashiqiao well known in the refractory materials industry.
On the eastern side, the land starts to rise toward the Liaodong hills. The street grid gives way to winding roads and open slopes.
