Te mapa
Dyer is a town in Lake County, Indiana, sitting right on the state line with Illinois at the southern edge of the Chicago metropolitan area. Its western boundary is a straight north–south line, and the town fills the land east of it with a mix of older streets and later subdivisions built around curving drives and cul-de-sacs.
The main east–west route through town is US 30, the historic Lincoln Highway, America's first coast-to-coast road. Dyer holds a short stretch known as the Ideal Section, built in the early 1920s as a model of what modern highway design should look like, with wide pavement and landscaped edges.
From above, the map shows that highway as a firm horizontal line, with residential streets branching off in loops and small parks and ponds scattered between them. A Dyer map poster captures a suburban place defined by a state boundary, a historic road and the quiet geometry of planned neighbourhoods.

A short stretch of the highway in Dyer was built in the 1920s as a showcase of modern road design, a small piece of transport history within a suburban setting.
Dyer's western edge follows the straight Indiana–Illinois border, a crisp boundary that frames the curving subdivisions spreading to the east.
