Te mapa
Gojō lies in the southwest of Nara Prefecture, where the Yoshino River runs west toward Wakayama and becomes the Kinokawa. The urban core occupies a stretch of flat land along the river, and the map shows it clearly. Streets are packed into the valley floor, the railway and main road run parallel to the water, and hills close in from both sides.
Most of the city's territory is mountain. After merging with neighbouring villages in 2005, Gojō reaches deep into the Kii Mountains, so beyond the town the map becomes a thin network of roads that follow rivers through steep valleys. Nearer the centre, the old merchant quarter of Shinmachi keeps a row of traditional townhouses, and the surrounding slopes are known for persimmon orchards.
A Gojō map poster works best framed around the river town itself. The curve of the Yoshino, the long straight lanes of the old quarter and the bridges across the water make a compact, legible composition. In black and white, the valley setting gives the design a strong horizontal flow.
The river runs through the centre from east to west. The town's main streets, rail line and bridges are all arranged around its broad, gently curving course.
A preserved merchant street of Edo-period townhouses runs near the river. On the map it shows as a narrow, continuous lane lined by tightly packed plots.
South of the town, the roads thin into single threads that follow valleys into the Kii Mountains. The wide blank areas around them show how compact the settled core is.

Koteā ko Gojō
The poster suits people from the Yoshino valley, or travellers who passed through on the way into the Kii Peninsula. It is a quiet map, defined by one river and a narrow band of streets, and it holds up well on a plain wall in a small room.
You can set the title, subtitle and coordinates line yourself and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A free watermarked preview lets you check the framing before you buy the $9 HD files or a printed poster.
