Te mapa
Kishiwada lies on the southern shore of Osaka Bay, between Sakai and Kansai Airport, and runs in a long strip from the coast into the Izumi mountains. The lower part of the city is densely built, the upper part more rural, and the map moves clearly from harbour and reclaimed land through old streets to wooded slopes.
At the heart of the old town stands Kishiwada Castle, its keep rebuilt in the twentieth century on the original stone base and surrounded by a moat. The streets around it keep the tighter pattern of a castle town, and the old Kishū road passes nearby with rows of traditional houses along it.
The city is best known for the Danjiri Matsuri, held each September, when heavy wooden floats are pulled at speed through narrow streets and swung round tight corners. A Kishiwada map poster shows those streets together with the castle moat, the port and the straight edges of reclaimed land along the bay.
The castle and its moat form a compact block at the centre of the old town, a strong focal point with the finer castle-town street pattern arranged around it.
Along Osaka Bay, man-made land extends the coast with harbour basins, industrial blocks and straight quays, a crisp geometric edge against the older town behind.
Inland the streets loosen and the city climbs toward the Izumi mountains, with irrigation ponds, farmland and residential areas spread along the valleys.

Koteā ko Kishiwada
Kishiwada inspires strong loyalty, especially among families whose neighbourhoods take part in the danjiri festival each year. A map of the town suits a home, a community space or someone living far from Osaka who still follows the event every September.
The title and subtitle can be personalised, perhaps with a neighbourhood name, along with the coordinates line. Choose among Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, check the free 900 px preview, and download the HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
