Te mapa
Guápiles is the main town of Pococí canton in Costa Rica's Limón Province. It lies on the Caribbean lowlands where the land flattens out below the central mountains. The main highway from San José to the port of Limón runs past the town, and much of Guápiles has grown along that route.
The surroundings are very green. To the southwest, the forested slopes of Braulio Carrillo National Park rise toward the central volcanoes. To the north and east, banana and pineapple plantations cover large parts of the lowlands, and their straight access roads and drainage channels make a strong geometric pattern on the map.
A Guápiles map poster combines a compact town grid, a main road and the large, ordered blocks of plantation land. Rivers flowing down from the mountains add curving lines. It suits anyone who has lived in the Caribbean region or who knows the town as a stop on the way to the coast.

Banana and pineapple farms nearby are divided by straight roads and channels. They form large, regular rectangles around the town.
Rivers flowing down from the central mountains cross the lowlands in curving lines, softening the straight edges of the fields.

Koteā ko Guápiles
Guápiles is a place many Costa Ricans pass through and some call home. A map of the town records the streets, the road to the coast and the landscape around it, which is a meaningful image for families from Pococí.
