Walled village cores
The older villages form tight, irregular knots of narrow lanes. On the print they stand out as dense clusters within the more open land around them.

Te mapa
Ha Tsuen lies in the Yuen Long district of Hong Kong's north-western New Territories, on low ground near the shore of Deep Bay, across the water from Shenzhen. It is one of the older rural areas of the territory. Its villages have long been associated with the Tang clan, one of the leading lineages of the New Territories.
The map here looks nothing like Hong Kong's dense towers. Small village clusters with narrow lanes sit among fishponds, farmland and open storage yards, many of which serve the region's port and logistics industries. Nearby, the new town of Tin Shui Wai and the planned Hung Shui Kiu development add larger, more regular street patterns at the edges.
A Ha Tsuen map poster shows a landscape in transition. Irregular village lanes, the geometric outlines of ponds and the straight lines of roads and yards overlap on the page. It is a quieter, more intimate view of Hong Kong, one that many residents know well but rarely see celebrated on a wall.
The older villages form tight, irregular knots of narrow lanes. On the print they stand out as dense clusters within the more open land around them.
The coastline toward Deep Bay and the fishponds along it create broad geometric shapes. They give the map a clear western edge and a sense of water nearby.
Storage yards and the edges of Tin Shui Wai and Hung Shui Kiu bring larger, more regular blocks into the composition, showing a landscape that is still changing.

Koteā ko Ha Tsuen
Ha Tsuen is ancestral ground for many indigenous New Territories families, and it is home to newer residents too. A map poster records the area as it is now, at a moment when development is reshaping its fields and ponds.
Add Chinese characters, an English title, a family name or a date, and adjust the coordinates line. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, each suited to different interiors.
