Te mapa
Heng Fa Chuen is a large private housing estate in Hong Kong's Eastern District, close to Chai Wan on the northeast shore of Hong Kong Island. From above it is unmistakable. A compact group of high-rise towers stands in regular blocks on flat land at the water's edge, with a promenade along the seafront and the hills of the island's eastern end beyond.
The estate was completed in the late 1980s alongside Heng Fa Chuen station on the MTR Island line, which runs above ground here on its way to Chai Wan. It looks out across the eastern approach to Victoria Harbour, toward Lei Yue Mun and the Kowloon side, and ships moving in and out of the harbour pass close by.
A Heng Fa Chuen map poster captures a very Hong Kong kind of place: a planned community of towers packed onto a sliver of land beside the sea. In black and white the building footprints form a crisp, repeating pattern, the railway draws a clean line along one side, and the water gives the composition space to breathe. It is a fitting print for residents past and present.

A promenade follows the shoreline along the edge of the estate and faces the channel at Lei Yue Mun. It gives the map a long, clean waterline.
The Island line runs above ground beside the estate, passing through Heng Fa Chuen station. On the poster it appears as a firm line linking the district to the rest of the island.
