Te mapa
League City lies in Galveston County, between Houston and Galveston along Interstate 45. It began as a small railroad and farming community and was named after J. C. League, a Galveston developer. Its historic core is still marked by rows of large live oaks, planted over a century ago and preserved as part of the town's identity.
Most of the city today is newer suburban development: winding streets, cul-de-sacs and master-planned neighbourhoods laid across flat coastal prairie. Clear Creek marks the northern edge on its way to Clear Lake, and to the east lie the marinas and waterways near Kemah and Galveston Bay. NASA's Johnson Space Center is just across the creek.
A League City map poster shows this layered growth clearly: the straight lines of the interstate and the older town, the curving subdivisions around them, and the meandering creek. In a monochrome print, the contrast between planned loops and natural water gives the page a gentle movement.
The creek winds along the northern edge of the city toward Clear Lake, forming a soft, meandering line that sets the city's boundary.
The older centre keeps a small grid of streets shaded by historic live oaks, a tighter pattern among the looser suburbs.
Large neighbourhoods of curving streets and cul-de-sacs fill much of the map, laid out across the flat land between the interstate and the bay.
