Harbour breakwaters
Long concrete arms enclose the fishing port and reach out into the sea. They give the coastline an angular, engineered edge that reads well at every print size.

Te mapa
Mombetsu is on the northern coast of Hokkaido, facing the Sea of Okhotsk. It is one of the places in Japan most closely tied to drift ice, which arrives from the north in mid-winter and can cover the sea to the horizon. The town is built around its fishing port, and the line of breakwaters is the first thing the eye finds on a map.
Behind the harbour the streets form a compact grid on flat coastal land, with higher ground rising inland. Beyond that the grid gives way to farmland and to rivers running down to the coast. A long, nearly straight shoreline stretches away in both directions and frames the town from end to end.
The Mombetsu map poster works especially well in Noir or Blueprint. The sea becomes a solid field and the harbour structures stand out like drawings on a chart. Visitors know the town for the Garinko icebreaker cruises into the pack ice and the giant crab claw sculpture on the waterfront. The map shows the plain working shape underneath.

The open sea fills the northern part of the composition. In winter it is often covered with drift ice, which the Garinko icebreaker cruises push through from the port.
Streets behind the harbour form a compact grid on level ground. Moving inland, the grid loosens into farmland and river valleys.

Koteā ko Mombetsu
People who have seen the drift ice from Mombetsu tend to remember the winter light and the silence of the frozen sea. A minimal map in Noir or Paper holds some of that atmosphere and sits quietly in a modern interior.
Mark the season of a visit or a family connection in the subtitle, and adjust the title and coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download has 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files in six sizes, and you can check a free 900 px preview first.
