Te mapa
Niakoul Rab lies on the eastern side of the Dakar region in Senegal, on the broad Cap-Vert peninsula that reaches into the Atlantic. Like much of the outer metropolitan area, it has grown quickly over recent decades as the capital expanded eastward. The map shows that growth plainly: blocks of housing laid out on sandy land, streets filling spaces that were once open.
The surrounding landscape belongs to the Niayes, a coastal belt of dunes and shallow depressions where groundwater sits close to the surface and market gardening has long been common. On a map, these hollows and green patches interrupt the street pattern, leaving gaps and curving edges. Toward the north, the land runs out to the Atlantic shoreline.
A Niakoul Rab map poster records a neighbourhood in the middle of change, with planned blocks, informal lanes and remaining open ground side by side. For families who built homes here, or residents of greater Dakar who know the area well, it is a precise and personal image of a place that rarely appears on printed maps.
Much of the area is laid out in rectangular housing blocks, reflecting recent expansion, and these produce a crisp, repeating pattern across the poster.
Low depressions of the Niayes zone break up the built fabric, appearing as open spaces and irregular edges between the neighbouring streets.
Zoomed out, the frame places Niakoul Rab on the Cap-Vert peninsula, with the wider suburbs of Dakar spreading around it toward the Atlantic.

Koteā ko Niakoul Rab
Places that are still being built deserve maps too. A Niakoul Rab poster fixes the neighbourhood as it looks now, which makes it a fine gift for a new homeowner or a reminder for someone who has moved away from Dakar.
Write your own title and subtitle, such as a family name and the year a house was finished, and adjust the coordinates line. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as digital files or a printed poster.
