Te mapa
Oak Lawn lies just southwest of Chicago, and its map continues the city's famous grid without interruption. Straight arterial roads such as 95th Street and Cicero Avenue cross the village at regular intervals, and between them sit orderly blocks of residential streets. The result from above is a highly regular pattern, almost like graph paper.
The village grew rapidly in the decades after the Second World War as a suburban community, and much of its street plan reflects that period. Advocate Christ Medical Center, one of the region's major hospitals, occupies a large site within Oak Lawn and forms a distinct block on the map.
A Metra rail line crosses the village diagonally, one of the few lines in the plan that does not follow the grid. An Oak Lawn map poster presents this geometric suburb with clarity: arterials, blocks and the single diagonal of the railway, all set down as precise lines in a composition that is both simple and satisfying.

Advocate Christ Medical Center occupies a large area within the village, forming a distinctive shape among the residential blocks.
The Metra line cuts across the grid at an angle, adding the only strong diagonal to an otherwise orderly plan.

Koteā ko Oak Lawn
Oak Lawn is where many people grew up, raised families or worked at the hospital, and its grid is instantly familiar to them. A map poster turns those everyday streets into a clean, graphic image for the wall.
