Te mapa
Omoa lies on the Gulf of Honduras, west of Puerto Cortés, where the coastal plain is at its narrowest. From above, the settlement forms a thin strip along the curve of the bay, with a road running parallel to the shore and short streets reaching down to the beach. Behind it the land climbs quickly into the green slopes of the Merendón mountains.
The town's best-known landmark is the Fortaleza de San Fernando de Omoa, a large triangular stone fortress built by the Spanish in the second half of the eighteenth century to protect the coast from pirates and British ships. Today it houses a museum, and its geometric outline stands out clearly on the map a short distance back from the water.
An Omoa map poster brings together three distinct elements: the sweep of the bay, the angular footprint of the fortress and the streams that come down from the mountains to the sea. The Sand style reflects the beach and coastal setting, while Noir makes the shoreline and the fortress stand out with graphic clarity.
The eighteenth-century Spanish fort with its triangular plan is among the largest colonial fortifications in Central America and a sharp, unmistakable shape on the map.
The coastline bends gently around Omoa, with the town and beach road following it closely and open Caribbean water filling a large part of the poster.
Steep, forested slopes rise just behind the coast, crossed by small rivers and a few winding roads that lead up to villages in the hills.

Koteā ko Omoa
Omoa is a place for weekend trips from San Pedro Sula, family beach days and visits to the old fortress. A map of the bay makes a lasting reminder of those days, or a gift for someone who grew up along this stretch of the Caribbean coast.
Choose a title and subtitle, perhaps the name of the town and a special date, and keep the coordinates line or edit it. The five styles, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, are available as downloadable HD files or printed posters with an optional wooden frame.
