Te mapa
Pililla lies in the province of Rizal, on the eastern shore of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the Philippines. From above, the town stretches along the lakeshore road, with its densest streets close to the water. To the east, the land rises into hills, and the neighbourhoods thin out into winding roads and open slopes.
Pililla is best known for its wind farm. A line of large turbines stands on the hills above the town, overlooking the lake, and has become a popular stop for visitors from Metro Manila. The combination of lake, hills and turbines has given this small town a recognisable identity in the region.
A Pililla map poster shows a town defined by its shoreline. On one side, the smooth, open area of Laguna de Bay, and on the other, the streets climbing towards the hills. The lakeshore road runs through it all, connecting Pililla to its neighbours. The result is a simple composition with a strong horizontal line of water.
The western edge of the map is formed by the lake, a wide open surface that contrasts with the dense streets of the town along its shore.
A main road runs parallel to the water, linking the town centre with the neighbouring municipalities and holding the street network together.
East of the centre, the land rises into hills where the wind turbines stand, and the roads become fewer and more winding.
