Te mapa
Protvino is a science town in the south of Moscow Oblast, near Serpukhov and the Oka river. It was built in the 1960s to serve the Institute for High Energy Physics, whose proton accelerator was for a time the most powerful in the world. The town and the laboratory remain closely linked, and both show clearly on a map.
The town is compact and carefully planned, with residential blocks arranged among trees and wide streets laid out in a clear pattern. The accelerator complex lies outside the housing, surrounded by forest, and the ring of its main machine is a distinct circular feature. A much larger ring tunnel for an unfinished project lies underground nearby.
A Protvino map poster shows a place that is both modest in size and remarkable in purpose: a tidy, planned town in the woods, the research site beside it and the river valleys nearby. For physicists and anyone who grew up here, the map carries a quiet significance.
The high-energy physics complex lies beside the town in the forest, with the ring of its proton accelerator forming a distinctive shape.
Residential blocks and streets follow a clear Soviet-era plan, compact and orderly, with generous green space between buildings.
Dense woodland surrounds both the town and the laboratory, so the built area sits within a wide, quiet frame on the poster.

Koteā ko Protvino
Protvino is a place with a strong sense of identity, shaped by science and the forest around it. A map poster makes a meaningful gift for physicists, former residents and anyone who knows the town.
