Te mapa
Qingshuping lies in central Hunan, in a landscape of rolling hills, small rivers and cultivated valleys. On a map, the town does not follow one simple shape. Its built-up areas stretch along the flatter ground, while the surrounding hills interrupt the streets and leave green gaps between neighbourhoods.
The main roads follow the valleys and connect the town with the wider region, so the street pattern tends to form long corridors rather than a tidy square grid. Newer blocks are usually larger and more regular, while older streets closer to the centre are narrower and more closely packed. Around the edges, roads thin out into lanes and farm tracks.
Because it is a smaller city, the map of Qingshuping is less about famous landmarks and more about how settlement adapts to terrain. A Qingshuping map poster shows that relationship clearly: the density of the town, the lines of the roads, and the open ground of the hills and fields around it.
Built-up areas extend along the flatter valley ground, giving the town an elongated shape shaped by terrain rather than by a planned outline.
Wooded and farmed hills break up the streets, leaving large unbuilt areas that appear as calm negative space in a minimalist print.
Tighter streets near the centre contrast with broader, more regular blocks of newer development, a mix typical of growing towns across Hunan.

For someone who grew up in Qingshuping, or has family there, a poster of its streets is a very specific memory. It shows home as a shape rather than a photograph, which often feels more personal.
