Rāhon is in the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district of Punjab, in the fertile Doaba region between the Beas and the Sutlej. From above it looks like many long-settled Punjabi towns. A tight, irregular core of lanes sits in the middle, and newer streets reach outward along the roads to nearby villages.
The land around is almost completely flat and intensively farmed, so the town's edge is sharp. Housing gives way directly to a patchwork of field boundaries, irrigation channels and straight rural roads. The Sutlej flows not far to the south.
