Te mapa
Salto takes its name from the falls on the Tietê River, and from above the river is the obvious centre of the plan. The water bends through town past rocky stretches and shores that have been made into parks, while the older streets climb gently away from the banks in short, irregular blocks. Newer residential grids spread out on the higher ground around them.
The town lies in the interior of São Paulo state, between Itu and the wider Campinas and Sorocaba region. Its road network shows this, with main routes leaving the centre toward neighbouring towns and highways running along the outer edge. Between those roads, housing blocks and industrial lots take up the open, rolling land.
Salto's growth has been tied to the Tietê from the start, first as a place for settlers to stop and later as a source of power for textile mills. A Salto map poster keeps that relationship in view, with the river running through the middle of the frame and the town arranged along both sides of it.
The rapids that named the town fall right beside the old centre, and the river's rocky course forms a broken, textured line through the middle of the map.
Green space along the banks shows as open ground between the water and the street grid, softening the edges of the central blocks.
Routes toward Itu and the larger cities nearby run out from the centre, linking Salto's compact core to the highways around it.
