Te mapa
Sam Shing sits on the southern edge of Tuen Mun in Hong Kong's New Territories, where the new town meets Castle Peak Bay. The map here is shaped by the coast: a curving seafront promenade, the mouth of the Tuen Mun River channel and the open water of the bay to the south.
Public housing blocks and residential towers form compact footprints along a few streets, and the Tuen Mun light rail runs close by, with a stop named for the area. Next door, the Sam Shing Hui seafood market and restaurants have long drawn visitors, a lively strip of small buildings beside the larger estates.
A Sam Shing map poster frames this small but distinctive part of Tuen Mun: the geometry of high-rise blocks, the light rail lines and the edge of the bay. The contrast between dense housing and open water gives the composition clarity and a strong sense of place.
The bay forms the southern edge of the area, its waterfront promenade and piers giving the map a clean coastline against Tuen Mun's dense blocks.
The Tuen Mun light rail runs near the estate, and its tracks and stop add fine connecting lines to the tight grid of residential towers.
The seafood market and restaurant strip beside the estate appear as a cluster of small buildings, known locally as a place to eat by the water.
