Te mapa
San Antonio lies on the central coast of Chile, in the Valparaíso Region, roughly a hundred kilometres west of Santiago. From above, the port dominates the waterfront, with long breakwaters, terminals and container yards filling the bay. Behind it, the town climbs a series of hills and terraces, where streets curve along the slopes and older neighbourhoods look down over the harbour.
San Antonio is one of the largest ports in Chile and handles much of the cargo moving to and from the Santiago region. South of the centre, the Maipo River, which flows down from the Andes past Santiago, reaches the Pacific at Llolleo and forms a wetland estuary. Small resort towns line the coast to the north and south.
A San Antonio map poster shows a working coastline: the strong geometry of long piers and breakwaters, the irregular pattern of hillside streets and the wide mouth of the Maipo river, all set against the open Pacific. Heavy industry and open water share the map in equal measure.

Behind the port, streets climb and curve across the hills, creating an irregular network that contrasts with the geometry of the harbour below.
South of the centre, the Maipo reaches the Pacific through a broad estuary with wetlands, adding a soft, meandering line to the coast.
