Soviet street grid
Broad avenues and evenly spaced cross streets divide the centre into near-identical rectangles, a plan drawn in a single era and still clearly legible from above, with little of the irregularity of older towns.

Te mapa
Severodvinsk sits at the western edge of the Northern Dvina delta, about thirty-five kilometres from Arkhangelsk, where low marshy ground meets the open water of the White Sea. From above, the city reads as a rectangle of regular blocks pressed against the shoreline, with long avenues running parallel to the coast and cross streets marching down toward the bay. Channels of the delta cut the land to the east into islands.
The town was founded in the 1930s around a new shipyard and grew into Russia's main centre for building submarines, a history that explains its planned, almost diagrammatic street plan. Vast industrial basins and slipways occupy the waterfront, drawn on the map as hard-edged geometry. To the north, the long sandy strip of Yagry Island lies between the harbour and the sea, its pine forest rendered as quiet open space.
A Severodvinsk map poster keeps all of this in balance: the dense residential grid, the industrial shoreline, the braided delta channels and the pale expanse of the bay. Printed in black and white, the contrast between built blocks and empty water becomes the main subject, and the northern latitude is recorded in the coordinates line beneath the title.
Broad avenues and evenly spaced cross streets divide the centre into near-identical rectangles, a plan drawn in a single era and still clearly legible from above, with little of the irregularity of older towns.
A long, forested island between the harbour and the White Sea, with a sandy beach on its seaward side. On the map it forms a thin protective band along the city's northern edge.
East of the city, arms of the Northern Dvina wind through low wetland toward Arkhangelsk, splitting the land into islands and giving the poster a loose, organic contrast to the grid.

Koteā ko Severodvinsk
Severodvinsk is often a place people have worked in, served in or grown up in, and its plan carries that sense of purpose. A print of the grid and the bay makes a restrained reminder of a northern home, fitting a study or hallway as easily as a living room.
The poster can be personalised with your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example a family name or the year you arrived. Choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the shipbuilding story particularly well.
