Te mapa
Shcherbinka lies just south of Moscow's old boundary and since 2012 has formed part of the city itself, within the territory often called New Moscow. On a map it is defined by the railway: the Kursk direction line runs through the town, and residential districts, industrial plots and newer apartment blocks arrange themselves on either side of the tracks.
Its most distinctive feature from above is the experimental railway ring, a large closed loop of track used for testing locomotives and rolling stock. Few towns have anything like it, and on a black and white map the circle stands out against the more ordinary pattern of streets, garages and courtyards, almost like a diagram placed over the suburb.
A Shcherbinka map poster captures that mix of the practical and the unexpected: the straight rail corridor, the clustered housing estates, patches of woodland and the perfect ring of test track nearby. For residents it is a precise portrait of home; for rail enthusiasts it is one of the more unusual maps in the Moscow region.
A large circular railway loop near the town is used for testing trains, and its clean geometry makes it one of the most recognisable shapes on the whole poster.
The main line toward Podolsk and Kursk cuts through Shcherbinka, dividing the town into two halves joined by crossings and giving the map a strong central axis.
Patches of forest around the town appear as open areas, softening the transition between dense apartment blocks and the wider Moscow suburbs.

This map suits people who grew up among Shcherbinka's courtyards or commuted daily along the Kursk line, and anyone drawn to railway history. The test ring makes it a conversation piece even for those who have never visited.
