Te mapa
Shināş lies on the Al Batinah coast of northern Oman, close to the border with the United Arab Emirates. The Batinah is a long, flat coastal plain between the Gulf of Oman and the Hajar Mountains, and Shināş shows its typical form: a nearly straight shoreline, a band of houses and date palm gardens behind it, and roads leading inland across gravel plains toward the mountains.
The town has a historic fort near the coast, and fishing has long been part of daily life here. Its port is also the mainland terminal for ferries to Khasab in the Musandam Peninsula, Oman's exclave on the Strait of Hormuz, which gives Shināş a role beyond its size. The coastal highway running parallel to the sea forms another strong line on the map.
A Shināş map poster is organised in horizontal layers: sea, shoreline, settlement and the plain behind. The straight coast and parallel roads give it a calm, balanced structure, while the harbour and the pattern of the palm gardens add detail. It is a quiet, well-proportioned image for anyone with roots on the Batinah coast.
The coast at Shināş runs almost straight, forming a clean division between the Gulf of Oman and the land that gives the map a calm, horizontal structure.
The harbour at Shināş connects the mainland with Khasab in Musandam by ferry, its breakwaters appearing as distinct geometric shapes on the otherwise smooth coastline.
Date palm gardens and farms fill the band behind the shore, producing a patterned texture between the coastline and the open plain toward the Hajar Mountains.

Koteā ko Shināş
People from Shināş and the Batinah coast have a strong sense of place, shaped by the sea, the palms and the fort. A map poster of the town is a fitting way to keep that connection in a home in Muscat or abroad.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for instance with a family name and a date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order HD files or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
