Tây Hồ is the Hanoi district built around Hồ Tây, the West Lake, the largest lake in the city. On a map the lake dominates. It is a broad, rounded body of water with an irregular shoreline, ringed by a road and by neighbourhoods built right up to its edges. To the north and east, the district reaches the embankments of the Red River.
The Trấn Quốc Pagoda, traditionally considered the oldest in Hanoi, stands on a small island on the eastern side of the lake. Nearby, the causeway of Thanh Niên road separates West Lake from the smaller Trúc Bạch Lake. Some of the former lakeside villages were known for peach blossom and kumquat trees grown for Tết. Today their older lanes mix with newer homes, cafés and hotels.
To the north, the Nhật Tân Bridge crosses the Red River on a row of cable-stayed towers, a striking modern line on the map. A Tây Hồ map poster frames all of this at once. It shows the calm expanse of the lake, the fine lanes of the old villages and the wide river sweeping past the district.

The pagoda stands on a small island on the eastern side of the lake. A short causeway leads to it, and on the map it shows as a small point in open water.
A long cable-stayed bridge carries traffic from the district over the Red River. Its straight span contrasts with the curving embankments and sandbanks below.

Koteā ko Tây Hồ
Many people, locals and newcomers alike, spend some of their best Hanoi years by the lake. A map of Tây Hồ keeps those morning walks and evening rides in view. Add your street or the year you moved in as the subtitle, and choose your own title.
Blueprint and Noir make the lake a bold central shape, while Paper, Sand and Classic keep it light. The $9 HD set includes six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files. Printed posters are available with an optional wooden frame.
